Focus: Supporting those impacted by suicide loss through resources, community connections, and strategic initiatives.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Assist in the development of postvention resources
- Contribute to the creation of postvention goals and strategic planning
- Support the implementation of postvention programs in workplaces, schools, and communities
- Help organize and promote an informal support group to foster community and connection
- Identify and partner with local organizations to ensure awareness
Focus: Engaging young people, educators, and youth-serving organizations to promote suicide prevention and mental well-being.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Advocate for youth-focused suicide prevention programs
- Join efforts in planning the Pele Chandler Conference on Youth Suicide, which we are hosting in collaboration with Texas Children's Hospital
- Support peer-to-peer initiatives and safe storytelling events
- Help expand youth engagement through school and community partnerships

Focus: Supporting military service members, veterans, and their families through targeted suicide prevention strategies. This initiative began as part of the Mayor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans, and Families.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Engage in outreach efforts to connect veterans with mental health resources
- Assist in organizing veteran-focused events and initiatives
- Contribute insights on military and veteran mental health needs
- Support the expansion of SPARC’s mission within the Houston community
